Turn Any Photo into a Bead Pattern with FusePixel

A step-by-step walkthrough of importing a photo, tuning parameters, and building the finished piece.

Why Convert Photos to Bead Art?

Photo-to-pattern is one of the most creative ways to use fuse beads. You can transform pet photos, landscapes, or family portraits into unique bead art. It's easier than designing from scratch and produces highly personalized results.

Step 1: Choose the Right Photo

Not every photo makes a good bead pattern. Best results come from: photos with clear subjects and strong color contrast, close-up portraits of people or pets, and simple backgrounds. High resolution isn't necessary — FusePixel pixelates the image automatically.

Step 2: Import and Adjust Parameters

Tap "Photo to Pattern" in FusePixel and select your photo. Adjust these settings: canvas size (beginners should start with 29×29), number of colors (fewer colors = easier to build), and bead brand for color matching (choose the brand you own). When satisfied, confirm to generate.

Step 3: Review the Material List

After generating the pattern, FusePixel automatically counts how many beads of each color you need. Review the material list to ensure you have enough beads. If a color is hard to find or requires too many, go back to the editor and swap colors manually.

Step 4: Follow the Build Guide

This is where the magic happens! Open row-by-row build mode in FusePixel. The app highlights the current row, showing exactly which color goes where. Complete each row, mark your progress, and move to the next. For large projects, work in 10-15 row sessions to stay focused and accurate.
